Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior/Principal Process Engineer to join our Water Solutions team across London, St Albans, Croydon or Basingstoke. You will lead water and wastewater process design, contribute to multi-disciplinary project delivery and support a £4.8bn investment programme with clients across Southern UK.

Alongside technical leadership, you’ll develop deliverables, ensure compliance with standards, and foster safe, innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science
• Chartered (or can demonstrate learning and development on course to achieve chartered status)
• Water Industry Experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of water and wastewater process solutions
• Produce and review process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances and technical specifications
• Provide technical leadership, solving complex engineering challenges and supporting project delivery
• Participate in and contribute to HAZOP, HAZID and other process safety reviews
• Prepare key process safety documentation, including Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments
• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practice
• Work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
