Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to join our Water Team across the UK with hybrid work options in Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds and Manchester. You will lead process design for water and wastewater projects, mentor junior staff and collaborate with clients and other discipline teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will oversee feasibility through construction design, contribute to safety reviews, and support bids while leveraging AECOM’s digital tools and BIM capabilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive design experience delivering large-scale water engineering projects.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and line management.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Chartered membership and professional recognition preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and review the design of process elements in wastewater and water infrastructure projects, including site visits and client liaison.
• Engage in all design stages (Feasibility to Construction Design) ensuring compliance with standards.
• Lead bid preparation and interface with clients on needs and expectations.
• Ensure delivery of quality designs within budgets and timelines across multiple clients.
