Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced tunnelling engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team on landmark projects. You will produce, check and approve deliverables, manage resources and contribute to client liaison and business development from feasibility through to construction.

You will work within a dynamic team of tunnelling and geotechnical engineers, applying Eurocode standards and modern design tools to deliver high-quality outcomes while developing your professional

Qualifications

• Experience in management and delivery of tunnelling projects.
• Technical expertise in civil/structural and geotechnical engineering.
• Consultancy experience with good commercial awareness and relationships with clients & contractors.
• Experience with Eurocodes and other design standards.
• Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Producing, checking and approving engineering deliverables including reports, presentations, design calculations and drawings associated with the design of tunnels and shafts.
• Work with a dynamic team of tunnelling and geotechnical engineers on diverse projects from feasibility through to construction.
• Effectively managing and delivering project work with robust project financial management.
• Assisting in the management of team resources and allocation of appropriate project resources.
• Managing, mentoring and developing professional staff.
• Providing support in client liaison, contractors and sub consultants, public and statutory body consultation, quality control and management of specialists.
• Carry out business development activities including preparation of technical proposals.
