Job summary

WSP UK & Ireland in Brighton is seeking an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, delivering high-quality technical outputs and responsible project performance.

You will provide technical leadership, develop ground models, supervise design work on foundations, slopes, earthworks and tunnels, and build trusted client relationships while supporting business growth.

Qualifications

• Substantial technical background in geotechnical engineering and ground risk management.
• Ability to develop ground models and geotechnical assessments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project scope, programme and budget.
• Strong commercial awareness with proposal development experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and senior representation of WSP.
• Mentoring and coaching of engineers and geologists.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational leadership across complex geotechnical projects.
• Act as senior technical authority for ground models and design deliverables.
• Direct and review geotechnical analysis for foundations, earthworks, slopes and tunnels.
• Manage project performance including programme, budget, resources, quality and risk.
• Develop trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to expand services.
• Lead bids and proposals with technical approaches and commercially competitive fee submissions.
• Mentor engineers and engineering geologists and support professional development.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on strategy and workload planning.
• Foster cross-discipline collaboration to access full capabilities across regions.
