Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is hiring a Senior Transport Shift Manager for our Tamworth site. You will lead a large driver fleet, drive end-to-end transport operations, and report on contractual KPIs to optimise performance.

You’ll coach teams, conduct performance reviews, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver operational excellence. A CPC qualification and UK driving licence are essential, with on-call weekend duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport management at senior level is essential.
• Hold a valid International Transport Manager CPC qualification or be willing to obtain it.
• UK driving licence is required for occasional site visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of First Line Managers and 134 drivers across a large fleet site.
• Support end-to-end transport operations, ensuring safe, efficient performance.
• Track and report KPIs, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct 1-2-1s, coaching and succession planning.
• Produce customer-facing reports and performance updates.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders to drive excellence.
• Act as escalation point for queries, discipline and HR processes.
• Coordinate admin, returns, POD, agency labour and recruitment activities.
• Be on call every other weekend and respond/visit site when required.
