Job summary

Kirklees Metropolitan Council is seeking a proactive highway safety professional to deliver community schemes that improve parking and congestion. Qualifications

• Experience managing a small team and guiding junior officers to design minor traffic schemes.
• Ability to prioritise workloads.
• Experience dealing with challenging customers and a strong customer focus.
• Ability to investigate and respond to requests from the public, local councillors and MPs and develop solutions to highway safety issues.
• Skills to work in a political environment.
• Basic knowledge of processing Traffic Regulations Orders and when they are used.
• Ability to consult with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to assess potential housing impacts on the Highway Network.
