Job summary

Formula 1 seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to provide system oversight for Telemetry, On-car & trackside services. You will support event delivery, communicate with FIA, F1 Teams, and Broadcast partners, and drive improvements across telemetry systems.

The role requires 5+ years in motorsport electronics, strong RF knowledge, and the ability to travel extensively internationally. You’ll work within a dynamic team at Biggin Hill on site, with opportunities for professional growth and access

Qualifications

• Track record of 5+ years working within a motorsport environment, interfacing with software and/or electronics.
• Strong understanding of RF principles and the challenges of a motorsport environment.
• Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation including requirement specifications, test plans, and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Event preparation: align with supporting team managers for service delivery.
• Maintain awareness of planned testing, updates or issues for each event.
• Act as SME for Telemetry and On-car electronics systems and track issues to resolution.
• Coordinate with FIA, F1 Teams, and Broadcast & Media on technical topics.
• Monitor and analyze data to identify faults and performance improvements.
• Ensure systems meet performance quality and reliability requirements across events.
• Collaborate with R&D and Operational requirements across Telemetry & On-car systems.
• Provide technical input on design and development of future systems.
• Attend up to 70% of F1 events to install, commission and operate systems.
