Job summary

Formula 1 is seeking a Telemetry Engineer to join the Track Systems team. You will plan, deploy, commission and run the F1 Telemetry system across events, leading RF installations and coordinating with trackside infrastructure.

You will guide engineering standards and ensure high‑quality, reliable performance for on‑car and data systems. The role involves hands‑on support at events, collaboration with FIA marshalling, and ongoing system optimization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in complex operational environments interfacing with software or electronic systems.
• Experience in systems engineering including integration and operation of complex systems.
• Solid understanding of RF principles in high‑performance environments.
• Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation and test reports.
• Experience with networking, serial protocols, and telemetry data handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own deployment, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of RF installations at Grand Prix circuits.
• Provide technical direction for F1 Telemetry and On‑Car systems and set engineering standards.
• Support trackside systems, paddock systems, and F1 team integration; ensure issues are tracked to resolution.
• Configure and monitor broadcast and IT systems for onboard video multicasts and telemetry.
• Monitor system performance; proactively identify faults and optimization opportunities.
• Manage hardware lifecycle and logistics in line with F1 processes.
• Attend up to 70% of F1 events to support installation and operation on site.
