Job summary

Formula One Management Limited is seeking a Telemetry Engineer to join the Track Systems team. You will plan, deploy, commission and run the F1 Telemetry system across Grand Prix circuits, coordinating with FIA and trackside operations to ensure reliable data and video transmission.

You will lead technical direction for Telemetry and On-Car systems, implement engineering standards, and drive performance improvements across race and non-race activities.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in electronics engineering (or suitable equivalent, such as RF, Telecommunications or similar)
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in complex operational environments interfacing with software/electronic systems
• Strong knowledge in systems engineering and RF principles

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of radio frequency installations across Grand Prix circuits
• Provide engineering leadership for F1 Telemetry and On-Car systems, defining standards and strategy
• Drive development of technical capability to meet business needs, promoting operational excellence
• Hands-on support for trackside systems, paddock systems, and F1 team integration
• Configure, maintain, and support broadcast and IT systems for onboard video multicasts and telemetry data
• Monitor system performance, identify faults and opportunities for optimisation
• Maintain telemetry and on‑car systems for reliable, high‑performing operation
• Plan race event preparation activities with relevant departments
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and advocate improvements
• Maintain equipment inventories and coordinate logistics and shipment
• Manage hardware lifecycle and issue resolution in line with process requirements
• Commit to attending up to 70% of F1 events for on-site support
