We’re looking for a Tech Lead to join DWP Fraud & Error. You lead our technical team in the prevention and detection of fraud and error in public services.
You’ll be working at the forefront of technology used to prevent and detect fraud and error across digital products and services used by millions of people. And you’ll be communicating a technical vision across a range of experts and areas.
Our team collaborates closely with policy, benefit lines, counter‑fraud operations, and other DWP Digital groups to deliver solutions to complex challenges that you don’t find anywhere else.

As our Senior Technical Lead you will be accountable for coordinating technical teams to design, build, and maintain products and services.
You’ll use your expertise across multiple domains to develop technical product roadmaps and manage lifecycles, ensuring alignment with DWP's strategic objectives.
Technical expertise is essential, including cloud technologies, hosting, and a strong understanding of desktop and network environments.
As an important and influential member of the Fraud and Error leadership team you’ll provide technical input and advice into business discussions, helping to steer wider strategy at the most senior level.
You’ll use your deep knowledge of areas such as package implementation, configuration, customisation, integration, and solution architecture to find ways to improve and enhance service quality, configuration and management.
You will join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.
We work a hybrid model - you’ll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
We offer competitive pay of up to £92,552.
You will get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.
A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
