Job summary

Leonardo, a major defence and security company, is seeking a Principal Supportability Engineer to lead ILS and supportability efforts across complex programmes. The role involves defining requirements, driving through-life support concepts, and collaborating with customers and suppliers to deliver reliable, maintainable systems.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in defence engineering, with strong leadership, governance and capability development within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience applying Supportability Engineering principles in defence/aerospace or regulated environments.
• Experience analysing reliability, maintenance or operational data to identify trends.
• Practical experience performing analyses such as FMECA, Maintainability, LORA.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of supportability and ILS activities across complex programmes.
• Define, manage and validate supportability requirements through the lifecycle.
• Influence design decisions to improve reliability, maintainability and through-life support.
• Develop maintenance strategies, provisioning approaches and support solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support bids and business development with specialist supportability input.
• Conduct and review analyses including FMECA, LORA and reliability analysis.
