Job summary

Leonardo is hiring a Principal Supportability Engineer to shape through-life support for next-generation defence capabilities. You will lead ILS activities, validate requirements, and influence design to improve reliability and maintainability across complex programmes.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and support bids with specialist insights, while driving standards and continuous improvement in supportability practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline.
• Experience applying Supportability Engineering in defence/aerospace or regulated environments.
• Experience analysing reliability/maintenance/operational data to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Supportability and ILS activities across complex programmes.
• Define, manage and validate supportability requirements throughout the lifecycle.
• Influence product/service design to improve reliability and through-life support.
• Develop maintenance strategies, provisioning approaches and through-life support solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated support solutions.
• Support bids and business development with specialist supportability expertise.
• Conduct and review FMECA, Maintainability, LORA and Supportability analyses.
• Mentor and coach engineers in the Supportability community.
• Drive development of Supportability standards and best practices across the organisation.
