Job summary

Berkmann Wine Cellars Ltd, a London-based premium wine importer and distributor, is seeking a Senior Supply Planner to ensure seamless wine availability across the UK. You will own forecasting, replenishment, and supplier coordination to keep our national network well supplied.

Working with Sales, Finance and 3PL partners, you will analyze stock and performance data, drive continuous improvements, and help mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Degree in business or analytical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and ERP systems.
• Excellent Excel skills; advanced user.
• Wine industry experience or WSET certification is a big plus.
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, import documentation, and wine logistics.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End supply management: forecasting, replenishment, supplier pipelines, and UK transfers.
• Data-driven decisions: monitor stock levels, trends and performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, 3PLs and freight forwarders.
• Risk mitigation: ensure stock availability and clear communications.
• Continuous improvement: drive smarter working and supply chain initiatives.

The Role

In a dynamic and customer-focused environment, you will play a key part in keeping our wines flowing smoothly across our national network, while working with some of the best in the business.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• End-to-End Supply Management: From forecasting and replenishment ordering to managing supplier pipelines and UK network transfers.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Use your analytical mindset to monitor stock levels, trends, and performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, 3PL warehouses, Freight Forwarders and Suppliers.
• Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively manage stock availability, cover, and risks—ensuring actions and updates are clearly communicated.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion smarter ways of working and support wider supply chain initiatives.

About You

• Degree qualified, ideally in a business or analytical discipline
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and ERP systems
• Excellent Excel skills; advanced user essential
• Wine industry experience or WSET certification is a big plus
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, import documentation, and wine logistics
• Great commercial awareness and a solution-focused mindset
• Exceptional analytical and communication skills
• Experience with supply chain systems & demand planning tools
• Languages such as French, Spanish or Italian are a bonus.
• A genuine enthusiasm for operational excellence and problem-solving
• Previous experience of building successful relationships with 3PL warehousing and freight forwarders

Working Pattern

This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:30pm) but the individual must be flexible according to business needs.

Work Location

Head office in London. It is a requirement that the applicant will work from the office at least 3 days a week.
