Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Senior Civil Engineer to join the Consulting Highways Team in Sheffield. The role offers 40-hour weeks with hybrid, part-time and flexible options to suit life and work balance.

You’ll work on major highways schemes with National Highways and mentor junior designers while leading design teams to deliver high-quality civil engineering solutions across the region. You will be involved in technically sound design, bid support and health and safety leadership, with scope

Qualifications

• Experience in highways/civil engineering with leadership potential.
• Knowledge of design processes and client requirements in civil works.
• Experience delivering technically sound highway solutions to standards.
• Familiarity with health, safety and welfare regulations (CDM).
• Progress toward Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver technically sound highway solutions to standards.
• Prepare, check designs, calculations, drawings and deliverables.
• Oversee junior staff and manage project costs and budgets.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and business development activities.
• Promote effective health and safety practices within the team.
