Job summary

Brandon James Limited is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design efforts on residential and commercial developments in the UK. You will deliver structural calculations, drawings and reports across steel, concrete, timber and masonry, supporting projects from concept through construction.

The role requires Chartered status or progress toward it, a strong background in UK standards, and excellent communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Chartered status (MIStructE/MICE) or significant progress towards chartership.
• Strong practical experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry building structures.
• Proven experience in structural analysis, calculations and foundation design.
• Background delivering residential and commercial building projects.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication, technical problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering designs across a range of building projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and clients to ensure design intent and buildability.
• Undertake structural analysis, calculations and detailed design across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
• Design foundations and substructures for residential and commercial developments.
• Manage projects through design, technical delivery and construction stages.
• Produce and review structural calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Attend site visits, design meetings and provide technical support during construction.
• Liaise with clients, architects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development.
