Brandon James Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Birmingham team. You will lead structural design across residential and commercial developments, collaborating with architects, contractors and clients from concept to completion.

The role requires a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and chartered status (MIStructE/MICE) or progress toward chartership, with hands-on experience in steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures.

An established and growing structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their team. The Role

The successful Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering structural engineering designs across a range of building projects, working closely with architects, contractors and clients from concept through to completion.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking structural analysis, calculations and detailed design across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.

• Designing foundations and substructures for residential and commercial developments.

• Managing projects through design, technical delivery and construction stages.

• Producing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings and technical reports.

• Attending site visits, design meetings and providing technical support throughout construction.

• Liaising with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.

• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development.

The Candidate

The ideal Senior Structural Engineer will have:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• Chartered status (MIStructE/MICE) or significant progress towards chartership.

• Strong practical experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry building structures.

• Proven experience in structural analysis, calculations and foundation design.

• A strong background delivering residential and commercial building projects.

• Knowledge of relevant UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes.

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.

• Excellent communication, technical problem-solving and project management skills.
