Alexander Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to deliver high-quality structural designs across commercial, industrial, logistics, residential and data-centre projects in the UK. You will take ownership of design packages and work with multidisciplinary teams to drive technical excellence.

You will review drawings, provide constructible solutions, mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with UK Eurocodes and Building Regulations.

Qualificações

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• Strong consultancy experience delivering design projects.
• Knowledge of UK design standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Chartered status or working towards it is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Produce detailed structural designs, calculations and specifications across steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Develop structural solutions from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy, buildability and compliance with standards.
• Attend design reviews and provide clear technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support site inspections and resolve technical queries during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural designs, calculations and specifications across steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Develop structural solutions from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy, buildability and compliance with standards.
• Attend design reviews and provide clear technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support site inspections and resolve technical queries during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering/related.
• Strong consultancy experience delivering structural design projects.
• Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and drainage modelling tools).
• Solid understanding of UK design standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Excellent communication, problemsolving and engineering judgement.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, logistics or datacentre sectors.
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status (CEng MIStructE or CEng MICE).
• Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
• Experience in Flood Risk Assessment and Drainage Strategy Reports
• Industrial and Commercial building sector experience, along with other construction industry design experience.
