Job summary

Brandon James is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their Derby team, delivering designs for residential and commercial projects from concept through to construction.

You will lead structural analysis and detailing across steel, concrete, timber and masonry, manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and liaise with architects, contractors and clients to ensure practical, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered status or significant progress towards chartership.
• Strong experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry building structures.
• Experience in structural analysis, calculations and foundation design.
• Background delivering residential and commercial building projects.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication, technical problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking structural analysis, calculations and detailed design across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
• Designing foundations and substructures for residential and commercial developments.
• Managing projects through design, technical delivery and construction stages.
• Producing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Attending site visits, design meetings and providing technical support throughout construction.
• Liaising with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development.
