Job summary

Brandon James Limited in Leicester is seeking an Associate / Senior Structural Engineer to take responsibility for delivering projects from concept through to completion.

You'll work with clients, architects and contractors, lead design teams, and contribute to business development, fee proposals and resourcing, while mentoring junior engineers. An established Midlands consultancy offers varied UK projects and long-term progression.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status with the IStructE or ICE, or significant progress towards chartership.
• Strong UK consultancy experience within building structures.
• Good knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards.
• Experience delivering structural projects from concept to construction.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Previous experience mentoring or managing engineers would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects through all design stages.
• Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Designing in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
• Attending client and design team meetings.
• Coordinating with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians.
• Assisting with fee proposals, project resourcing and client relationships.
• Maintaining high technical and quality standards across projects.
