Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is seeking a Specialist Team Manager to lead the Education & SEND Family Help Team on a fixed term to March 2029. You will oversee family practitioners, manage caseloads, and drive high-quality, preventative interventions countywide.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of education, SEND and multi-agency working.
• Lead and motivate a high-performing team.
• Provide effective management oversight and supervision.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
• Use data, audit and performance information to drive service improvement.
• Promote child-centred, family-led and evidence-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead a specialist Family Help team delivering targeted and preventative interventions.
• Manage incoming work, prioritisation, allocation, review and closure of cases.
• Provide supervision, support and development to Family Practitioners and wider team members.
• Ensure high-quality direct work, specialist consultation and practical interventions.
• Support children and young people with attendance difficulties, SEND-related issues and mental health escalation.
• Strengthen multi-agency planning and coordinate support around the child and family.
• Monitor performance, quality and outcomes through audit and feedback.
• Represent the council at multi-agency forums and build partnerships.
• Develop innovative services to reduce escalation of need.
• Deputise for the Service Manager when required.
