Job summary

Checkout.com in London seeks an experienced Solutions Engineer to own the technical side of card issuing deals from first conversation to go-live.

In pre-sale you’ll position the issuing platform, run live demos, and win over engineers, product leads, and architects while the Account Executive drives the commercial thread. You’ll lead client technical interactions and support RFPs/RFIs in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a high-velocity, client-facing technical role at a PSP, Card Issuer / Issuer, Processor, Fintech, or Payments company.
• Mandatory UK & EEA Issuing Experience: hands-on experience designing or launching card programs in UK/EEA.
• Issuing Domain Knowledge: expert understanding of card program mechanics, BIN ranges, issuer processing, and scheme compliance.
• Payment Foundations: strong grasp of end-to-end payment flows, 3DS, Network Tokenisation, Apple/Google Pay, SCA and fraud controls.

Responsibilities

• Drive Technical Deal Execution with Sales and Issuing Operations to win complex, multi-product deals.
• Architect Card Issuing Solutions mapping client requirements to APIs and workflows.
• Build & Demonstrate through live demos and POCs for diverse audiences.
• Provide Issuing Domain Leadership across key streams and compliance.
• Lead Client Technical Interactions from discovery to go-live with Implementation Engineers.
• Support Complex Procurement (RFPs/RFIs) with technical, security, and program design queries.
• Capture Voice of the Customer to drive product enhancements and process improvements.
• Maintain mastery of Checkout.com’s issuing platform and evolving regulations.
