Senior Social Worker – Mental Health Team, Kensington and Chelsea – £36 per hour

This is a locum, full-time position to cover maternity leave (4 months with potential extension). The role focuses on adults facing severe and enduring mental health challenges. Bring your expertise, leadership, and empathy to a dedicated team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the mental health team, deputising for the Team Manager and acting as Duty Manager on a rota basis.
  • Screen new referrals and efficiently manage triage and safeguarding concerns with care and precision.
  • Provide strong leadership in multi-agency meetings, advocating a social work perspective throughout the decision-making process.
  • Collaborate with community mental health teams, voluntary organisations and healthcare partners to foster partnerships that enhance support and ensure safety.
  • Handle a manageable caseload of complex cases involving Care Act assessments, safeguarding, and court proceedings.
  • Mentor and supervise newly qualified social workers and apprentices, playing a crucial role in their professional development.
