ASI Recruitment is seeking a Senior Service Advisor / Assistant Workshop Manager for a Beckenham-based, family-run garage in Greater London. The role blends service desk duties with workshop coordination across parts, reception and workshop operations.

You'll support the Workshop Manager, coordinate workloads on busy days and keep the operation running smoothly. The package includes a £40,000+ base and a £4,000-£8,000 annual bonus, with Monday–Friday 8am-6pm and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Strong Service Advisor experience.
• Experience within an independent garage.
• Good understanding of workshop operations and parts.
• Confidence coordinating workshop workloads.
• Ability to deal with customers professionally.
• Hands-on, adaptable approach.
• Ability to cover Workshop Manager when needed.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Workshop Controller, coordinating jobs and keeping the workshop moving.
• Dealing with customers and covering service reception.

• Supporting the workshop team with day-to-day organisation.
• Providing cover and additional support when the Workshop Manager isn't on site.

This is a well-established family-run garage with a strong reputation for looking after its staff - I've personally placed candidates into the workshop here and know first-hand that people are treated properly. Now they're looking for an experienced Senior Service Advisor / Assistant Workshop Manager to join the team and provide some much-needed support when the Workshop Manager isn't around.

It's a properly varied role rather than a Service Advisor position where you're stuck behind a reception desk. You'll be involved across the workshop, parts and reception, helping keep the operation running smoothly on busy days and stepping up when needed.
