Auto Skills UK in Chelmsford is seeking a Senior Service Advisor to join our growing automotive business. You will be the key link between customers and the workshop, managing bookings, services and repairs from initial contact to vehicle collection.

This role requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of servicing and repair processes, and excellent communication with customers, technicians and management.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Advisor or Aftersales Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of automotive servicing, repairs and parts.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Take service and warranty bookings and update internal systems.
• Welcome customers and identify servicing and repair needs.
• Discuss warranty, servicing and repair requirements with customers.
• Promote servicing and additional work where appropriate.
• Prepare and issue repair orders to workshop technicians.
• Provide technicians with relevant customer and vehicle information.
• Keep customers updated on progress, costs and delays.
• Ensure work is completed to standard and on time.
• Record labour, parts and materials on job cards.
• Prepare invoices and process customer payments.
• Maintain warranty documentation and procedures.

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: From £35,000 per annum

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm + 1 in 3 Saturdays, 8:00am-1:00pm

The Role

As a Senior Service Advisor, you'll be the key link between customers and the workshop, ensuring service and repair work is managed efficiently from initial booking through to vehicle collection.

• Taking service and warranty bookings and updating internal systems
• Welcoming customers and identifying servicing and repair requirements
• Discussing manufacturer warranty, servicing and repair requirements
• Promoting servicing, accessories and additional work where appropriate
• Preparing and issuing repair orders to workshop technicians
• Providing technicians with relevant customer and vehicle information
• Keeping customers updated regarding progress, costs and any delays
• Ensuring work is completed to the required standard and within agreed timescales
• Accurately recording labour, parts and materials on job cards
• Costing and preparing invoices and processing customer payments
• Preparing and analysing warranty job cards
• Ensuring warranty procedures and manufacturer requirements are followed
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring reception administration is completed correctly

About You

We're looking for an experienced Service Advisor / Senior Service Advisor with a strong understanding of the motor industry and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.

• Previous experience in a Service Advisor role
• Strong knowledge of automotive servicing, repairs and parts
• Proven customer service experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians and management
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
