Role

The Senior Sales Engineer partners closely with the sales team as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will combine strong product knowledge and technical depth with excellent customer-facing communication skills. In this role, you will design and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations that educate and influence a wide audience — from developers and product managers to senior executives — on the technical value of our risk management solutions. We’re looking for someone with proven experience engaging customers, collaborating across internal and external stakeholders, and several years in Presales or a closely related technical role.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Apply deep business expertise across multiple Riskonnect applications; serve as a recognized subject-matter expert in relevant risk management domains. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage this business and application knowledge.
  • Identify market and product gaps, gather and understand customer requirements, and propose effective solutions. Own the creation of proofs of concept and demonstrable system prototypes.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with prospects and customers. Act as a trusted advisor, addressing business challenges and providing clear technical guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with customer stakeholders as well as Riskonnect leadership, including VPs and C‑suite, to clearly articulate proposed solutions and value.
  • Provide structured feedback from customer interactions to the product development team to help shape the product roadmap and future enhancements.
  • Lead solutioning efforts with customers in partnership with Sales, Professional Services, and Product teams. Create effort estimates and Statements of Work, using your business expertise to reduce the effort required from the customer.
  • Support sales cycles by orchestrating the preparation of trial environments and demonstrations. Coordinate work assignments with other engineers when needed. Prepare and deliver compelling demos and proofs of concept that showcase Riskonnect’s capabilities and use cases.
  • Deliver complete, persuasive platform demonstrations to audiences at all levels—from managers to directors, VPs, and C‑suite executives—in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Support onboarding for new sales team members. Mentor and coach junior Sales Engineers to help develop their technical proficiency and customer‑facing skills.
  • Guide the design and deployment of enterprise solutions that impact multiple functional areas within a customer’s organization.
  • Conduct ongoing research to remain current on industry trends, competitive solutions, and evolving customer needs.
  • Develop and deliver outstanding presentations, demonstrations, and solution narratives that clearly articulate the value of Riskonnect’s offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the sales support function to enhance customer experience and streamline the sales cycle.
Your current skillset/experience will include:
  • Deep expertise across multiple risk management and insurance domains, with preferred experience in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
  • Exceptional communicator and problem solver, able to convey complex concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Comfortable presenting to highly skilled audiences, including C‑level executives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration principles and best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proven ability to align technical solutions with strategic business goals and customer requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience working with Salesforce.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
Desirable:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Advanced degrees or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CRM, GRC, PMP, OCEG, or risk management certifications) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies, enterprise software, and risk management trends.
