Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Derby seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Buildings team for a major expansion programme with Rolls-Royce. You will own the commercial management of packages, coordinating with the Project Manager and procurement teams to deliver safely and commercially.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in construction commercial role.
• Experience managing complex subcontract packages.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and commercial management.
• Proven procurement, forecasting and cost reporting experience.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated packages and workstreams.
• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of subcontract packages from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare and manage forecasts, budgets, cost reports and monthly commercial reporting.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, accruals and cash flow.
• Lead the procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontract orders and amendments.
• Manage change control, variations, compensation events and commercial risks.
• Ensure contractual notices and records are maintained appropriately.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
