Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Derby seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Buildings team for a major expansion programme with Rolls-Royce. You will own the commercial management of packages, coordinating with the Project Manager and procurement teams to deliver safely and commercially.

About the role

Balfour Beatty is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Buildings team in Derby, working on our major expansion programme in partnership with Rolls-Royce.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key commercial role on a complex, high-profile programme, supporting the successful delivery of major construction and infrastructure works within a highly controlled and technically demanding environment.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of your packages, working closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager, procurement teams, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and commercially successfully.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

• Significant experience working in a Quantity Surveying / Commercial role within the construction industry.
• Experience managing complex subcontract packages and commercial accounts.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Experience with procurement, forecasting, cost reporting and change management.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with project and operational teams.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
