Balfour Beatty plc in Greater London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team and take ownership of cost, value and commercial performance across a defined area of project delivery.

This role suits a commercially minded professional who collaborates with project teams, customers and supply chain partners to deliver high-quality outcomes while driving value for money.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or related commercial discipline.
• Professional membership MRICS MCInstCES or MCIOB, or working towards.
• Strong understanding of commercial management, cost control and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing all costs and income within your area of responsibility and optimising value.
• Preparing, reviewing and analysing commercial information and reconciliations.
• Supporting progress reporting and providing updates to senior stakeholders.
• Reviewing contract programmes and handling delays and disruption assessments.
• Managing variations, compensation events and claims with negotiation where required.
• Working with customers, subcontractors and the project team to handle commercial matters.
• Leading procurement activity and strategy development; mentoring junior staff.
