Balfour Beatty is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial performance on the North Hykeham Relief Road project in Lincolnshire. You will oversee cost planning, contracts and final accounts, ensuring value, risk management and robust reporting across a major highways scheme.

Join a collaborative team, mentor junior commercial staff, oversee subcontract packages and maintain strong client relationships while upholding BB standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Competenze

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or related commercial discipline).
• Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards chartership).
• Proven experience as QS/Senior QS on civil engineering/highways/infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control.
• Experience forecasting, valuations, variations and final accounts.

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects from cost planning through to final account.
• Control project costs and deliver on the scheme's commercial objectives.
• Maximise value for money while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontract packages, valuations, variations and compensation events.
• Monitor budgets, forecast costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Produce accurate financial reports and provide commercial insight for decision making.
• Collaborate with operations to align commercial with programme delivery.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships and resolve commercial issues.
• Support the Commercial Manager/Managing QS in delivering the commercial strategy.
• Lead and develop a small team of QS and ASQ, with mentoring for junior staff.
