Job summary

Balfour Beatty is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team at our UK offices. The role offers exposure to cost management, procurement and project delivery within a leading infrastructure business.

You will work with experienced professionals, develop hands-on experience across measurement and valuation, and contribute to the preparation of cost reconciliation and commercial reporting in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to travel to different offices.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial team in managing project costs and maximising value.
• Measuring, recording and valuing completed works in accordance with company procedures.
• Assisting with the preparation of cost reconciliation statements and commercial reporting.
• Gathering and analysing construction cost data.
• Supporting procurement activities, including the preparation and collation of procurement documentation.
• Assisting with subcontractor measurement, valuations and agreements.
• Supporting weekly and monthly works programmes.
• Using company systems to manage project and commercial information.
• Maintaining accurate records and project documentation.
• Working closely with operational and commercial teams to support successful project delivery.
