Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and contractual delivery on major infrastructure projects. The role blends site, office and home-based working with travel to project sites across the UK.

You will manage subcontract terms, cost forecasts and financial reporting while mentoring junior staff and supporting procurement and risk management. Strong NEC experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, power or civil engineering projects.
• Strong NEC contract knowledge and commercial reporting.
• Mentoring and developing junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance of major infrastructure projects from inception to final account.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontract agreements and terms.
• Handle compensation events, variations, claims and entitlements.
• Produce cost forecasts, CVRs and financial reports.
• Support procurement activities and supply chain management.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and valuations.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide commercial support to project delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Analyse rates, prices and cost data to maximise value.
• Assist in preparation and negotiation of claims where required.
• Mentor and develop Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the team.
