Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Derby is recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of major project elements and oversee a small team. You will collaboratively work with project, design, procurement and delivery teams to ensure strong commercial outcomes.

The role focuses on cost control, tender analysis and cost forecasting within a regulated, flagship Rolls-Royce expansion programme in Derby, offering LEAN and digital tooling opportunities.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Chartered or working towards chartered status with RICS/ICES/CIOB.
• Valid CSCS card for a Professional Qualified Person.
• Experience with NEC4 Option E and Cost Reimbursable Contracts.
• Experience on build projects, civil/infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of project elements and track costs.
• Mentor junior commercial staff and support their development.
• Prepare and analyse tender documents and cost forecasts.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and manage relationships.
• Support procurement strategies and LEAN initiatives.
