Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Exeter is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its established cost management team. You will lead cost management on a diverse portfolio across sectors, delivering strategic cost advice, managing project finances and building strong client relationships.

The role offers ownership of projects, mentoring opportunities for junior colleagues, and a path toward MRICS status.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts and change management.
• Experience managing projects across full lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement, tendering and commercial management.
• MRICS chartership or progress toward chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of cost management from project inception through to completion.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, cost plans, budget forecasts and financial reports.
• Advise clients on procurement strategies, contractual arrangements and commercial considerations.
• Manage tender processes, including preparation of tender documentation, evaluation of submissions and recommendations.
• Monitor project expenditure, manage budgets and provide cost reports.
• Oversee measurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Apply NEC contract knowledge to manage contractual procedures and change management.
• Mentor junior team members and support client relationship development.
