Rate: Up to £350 per day (Umbrella)

They are currently working on a medium-size residential project in South London, a site that presents a unique and complex set of challenges. This is a distressed site, requiring an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who excels in problem-solving and can bring structure, control, and commercial expertise to the project.

About the Role

This is a freelance opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of a challenging residential project. With at least one year remaining on the scheme, this role offers long-term stability and the chance to make a significant impact in delivering a successful outcome.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the project.
• Identify and resolve complex issues related to cost, procurement, and programme.
• Work closely with the site team to ensure cost control and financial reporting.
• Conduct risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
• Lead negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and review valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contracts and commercial best practices.
• Provide strategic input to improve project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on multi-unit residential projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience handling complex project challenges.
