Job summary

Turner & Townsend is hiring a Major Programmes Lead / Senior Programme Director or Programme Management Office Director in the UK. You will shape and deliver large-scale capital programmes (£250m–£500m+) across sectors with strong construction roots, guiding strategic leadership and a programme-wide governance framework.

You will influence C-Suite stakeholders, drive decision-making, and ensure delivery excellence with safety, commercial, and governance discipline across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering large-scale transformation/real estate programmes (£250-£500m+) with tangible benefits.
• Ability to prioritise and optimise complex programmes across the lifecycle.
• Strong project delivery background with progression into programme leadership in construction.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams including PM, controls, technical and commercial teams.
• Familiarity with procurement routes and contracts (NEC, JCT).
• Strong understanding of project controls methodologies including schedule, cost, risk.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion the programme vision aligned with client objectives and investment strategy.
• Provide visible leadership across multidisciplinary teams and establish governance frameworks.
• Engage with C-Suite, Boards and investors to secure alignment and drive decision-making.
• Oversee forecasting, reporting, investment controls and value management.
• Lead health & safety governance and risk management across programmes.
• Design robust governance and assurance frameworks for programme delivery.
• Lead commercial and contractual management of commissions and business development.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture across teams.
