Job description
About the role

Our Infrastructure Product Teams are the backbone of Tesco Technology, providing the foundations that power everything we do. We design, build, and operate infrastructure products used by all our tech teams—from data centres to stores—managing everything from the ground up.

As Tesco accelerates its investment in internally developed products and services, our Senior Product Managers are shaping the next generation of developer experience. Our portfolio spans private and public cloud, connectivity, end-user computing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring toolkits.

In this role, you’ll lead Virtual Machines as a Service, a product used by hundreds of teams and thousands of developers. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on how one of the world’s largest retailers builds and realises technology outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Champion the developer experience for your product—understand your consumers better than anyone and advocate for their needs.
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with Tesco’s wider technology and business goals.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to define the future direction of your product.
  • Define user personas and pain points, ensuring solutions deliver real value.
  • Drive adoption and performance, using OKRs to measure success.
  • Prioritise effectively, making clear trade-offs and decisions with your team and peers.
  • Translate ideas into actionable work, writing user stories with acceptance criteria and breaking down complex initiatives into deliverable chunks.
  • Lead sprint and release planning, collaborating with engineering to maximise business value.
  • Provide leadership and clarity to cross-functional teams on near‑term priorities.
  • Act as the subject‑matter expert for your product area.
  • Coach and mentor members of the wider product team.
Qualifications

  • Data‑driven decision making, balancing qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Commercial awareness, understanding key business drivers and metrics.
