Job Title: Senior Procurement Professional

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £46,400 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing supplier performance to ensure delivery of agreed milestones to cost, quality and schedule
  • Proactively identifying supplier risk, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements
  • Investigating and resolving claims for delay or poor performance
  • Leading contract change negotiations with suppliers
  • Undertaking robust financial management of procurement contracts, including cost savings, cost avoidance, completion estimates and ongoing cost analysis
  • Supporting cross functional project activities – e.g. suppliers, business & cost account reviews, business reporting & KPI monitoring
  • Using the ERM system to manage Purchase Orders and other deliverables

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Professional knowledge and understanding of procurement principles, techniques, and practices
  • Proven experience and expertise in contract management within a supply chain environment, preferably within a similar industry
  • Proficiency in managing financial spend and budget control
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills when engaging with internal and external stakeholders at various levels
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise workload as appropriate
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet required deadlines

Desirable

  • Awareness of the legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
  • Experience using procurement ERP systems e.g. SAP
  • CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS

The Supply Chain team:

Join our dynamic Supply Chain team at BAE Systems, where you'll play a key role in managing procurement packs and subcontracts for the build and delivery phase of the highly complex Type 26 Shipbuilding programme within your designated Procurement Category.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for supplier relationship management and collaborating closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and materials while optimising contract performance.
