Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for the Anglian Water one Alliance. The role involves technical leadership of process engineers, ensuring designs are checked for fit-for-purpose standards and project outcomes.

Hybrid work with site visits in the UK. Responsibilities include leading design workflows, reviewing hydraulic calculations and P&IDs, and mentoring junior engineers while championing safety, sustainability, and innovative solutions across major water infrastructure

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Extensive water sector experience, especially process design and capital delivery.
• Thorough knowledge of regulations, standards and environmental requirements.
• Proven mentoring of junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage quality through the process design workflow delivering projects on time and to budget.
• Review mass balances, process sizing, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs and process diagrams for accuracy and compliance.
• Address construction site design queries and changes ensuring design integrity.
• Provide technical input for supplier contracts and deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice.
• Embrace innovation and digital tech to drive improvements and reduce carbon.
