Job summary

Ayesa Engineering is seeking a Lead Process Engineer - Associate Director for the Water Infrastructure Team in the UK. You will shape strategies, mentor engineers, and drive excellence from concept through commissioning.

Lead process design for water and wastewater facilities, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure compliance with UK standards and client requirements. Hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent.
• Degree in Chemical, Process, or Environmental Engineering (Master’s desirable).
• 10+ years’ experience in water, wastewater, or industrial effluent design.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design for treatment plants, pumping stations, and utility systems.
• Define process schemes, mass balance, hydraulic profiles, and equipment specs.
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations and client requirements (DWI, EA, Ofwat, etc.).
• Lead technical reviews, challenge assumptions, and ensure design integrity.
• Coordinate across civil, mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, design reports, and technical specifications.
• Support BIM and digital design integration in process workflows.
• Present and facilitate HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL studies.
• Lead or support D&B projects with utilities and delivery partners.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget control.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and grads.
• Engage with clients to shape solutions and lead bids.
• Promote innovation, sustainability and digital practices.
