Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, via its PES Practice, is seeking a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to lead grid compliance and dynamic studies for offshore wind and other renewables across UK projects. The role requires hands-on leadership, client engagement, and mentoring of engineers within a hybrid working model.

You will manage simulations for offshore wind, solar, BESS and hybrid projects, applying PSCAD, PowerFactory, MATLAB/Simulink and Python. Strong communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in electrical engineering or a relevant discipline; Master's degree desirable.
• Chartered Engineer status, or demonstrable progress towards chartership, with membership of the IET or similar body.
• Comprehensive experience in studies for offshore wind and renewables projects at Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design stages, with at least 4 years on major offshore wind projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid compliance studies and power system analysis for offshore wind and renewables projects.
• Conduct EMT and dynamic studies using advanced simulation tools.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions.
• Prepare simulation study models and perform power quality and fault analysis.
• Provide input to bids, proposals and framework opportunities; support business growth.
