AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to join our Energy Networks team across multiple UK locations including Glasgow. The role focuses on offshore wind studies, grid interconnection and dynamic simulations, with responsibilities spanning analysis, reporting and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Masters / bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with relevant industrial experience.
• Chartered Engineer – IET Member – Or in an accredited scheme to become Chartered Engineer
• Comprehensive experience in studies for Offshore Wind projects at Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design stages, with at least 4 years dedicated to major offshore wind project.
• Expertise in system study software such as PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, including the development of software scripts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct simulations and analytical studies for Offshore Wind projects, load and generation interconnection, integration of renewables.
• Prepare simulation study models and carry out power system studies including grid compliance for Offshore Wind, Solar, BESS and Hybrid projects; steady state and dynamic analysis.
• Carry out FRT, short circuit, protection, harmonics, and RMS dynamic stability studies using PowerFactory and PSS/E.
• Prepare study reports and other technical documentation and respond to proposals (RFPs) with man-hour estimates.
• Mentor junior staff, deliver training courses, and lead consulting and research projects.
