Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to lead offshore wind studies and grid interconnection analysis in the UK. You will perform steady state and dynamic studies, deliver reports, and mentor junior staff within the Energy Networks team.

The role supports a hybrid working culture across Epsom, Leeds, Birmingham or Glasgow, offering training, career development and client-facing project work on NetZero energy challenges.

Qualifications

• Masters or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with industrial experience.
• Chartered Engineer status or in an accredited scheme desirable.
• Comprehensive offshore wind studies experience at FEED/Detail Design stages.

Responsibilities

• Grid Code compliance (UK Grid Code/EREC).
• Load Flow and Voltage regulation studies.
• Short circuit and protection studies.
• Harmonics and transient analysis (EMTP/PowerFactory).
• RMS dynamic stability (Fault Ride-Through) analysis.
• Switching transients and insulation coordination.
• Dynamic converter and HVDC/FACTS studies.
• Analyse results, discuss with clients and prepare reports.
• Respond to RFPs with proposals and man-hour estimates.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to training.
