Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey seeks a Senior Theatre Practitioner for Orthopaedic Scrub to join the Theatre team. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern and a salary of up to £45,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.

You will provide expert instrument handling, assist surgical teams and coordinate theatre lists, while supervising junior team members and ensuring safe patient flow throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Significant perioperative orthopaedic experience.
• Strong clinical governance and safety knowledge.
• Experience in a senior/team-lead role within theatres.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment per protocols.
• Assist surgical and anaesthetic teams, anticipate needs during procedures.
• Lead theatre preparation, scheduling and resource coordination.
• Support Theatre Manager with briefings, stock control and patient flow.
• Supervise junior staff and provide clinical guidance.
• Identify risks and participate in audits and incident reviews.
• Liaise with consultants, anaesthetists and ward teams for continuity of care.
