Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner (Scrub) for Bishops Wood Hospital in Middlesex. This full-time 37.5-hour role offers a salary up to £45,500 per year, with flexible shift patterns and opportunities in a large private hospital group delivering advanced surgical care.

The role requires substantial perioperative experience in orthopaedics, leadership skills and a strong focus on governance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) registration.
• Significant perioperative experience with orthopaedic surgery.
• Extensive knowledge of procedures including complex cases.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• Solid understanding of clinical governance, infection control and theatre safety.
• Previous senior or team lead role within theatres.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment in line with protocols.
• Provide skilled assistance to surgical and anaesthetic teams, adapting to changes.
• Lead theatre preparation, coordinate surgical lists and ensure resources are in place.
• Assist Theatre Manager with briefings, scheduling, stock control and patient flow.
• Supervise junior staff, providing clinical guidance during shifts.
• Identify risks and participate in audits and incident reviews.
• Liaise with consultants, anaesthetists, recovery staff and ward teams to ensure continuity of care.
