Qualifications

  • Must have NMC Child Registered Nurse and Qualified in Speciality Training.
  • Experience in a Neonatal Unit, including labour ward deliveries post-qualification.
  • Must hold Neonatal Life Support provider status.
  • Experience supervising students and leading shifts is essential.
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues required.
  • Must possess teaching and mentoring experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed.
  • Experience with clinical governance and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high standards of clinical care in the Neonatal Unit.
  • Support day-to-day operations and mentor junior staff.
  • Lead shifts and advocate for patient safety.
  • Implement and evaluate holistic care plans.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Skills

NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN)
Experience within a Neonatal Unit
Neonatal Life Support
Supervising and assessing students
Safeguarding issues understanding

Education

Qualified in Speciality Training (SCBU, HDU and ICU modules)
