Job summary

Leonardo in Luton is seeking a Senior Microwave Engineer to design microwave and RF circuits operating to and beyond 20 GHz for EW self-protection systems, from early prototyping through detailed design, integration and test.

You will perform microwave simulation and optimisation with industry tools, conduct hands-on RF testing in a world-class lab, and collaborate with an Integrated Project Team while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Proven RF/microwave circuit design ability for electronic systems.
• Solid understanding of microwave theory and high-frequency effects.
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment and lab measurements.

Responsibilities

• Develop microwave and RF circuits operating up to and beyond 20 GHz for EW systems.
• Contribute to complex RF subsystems from prototyping to test and integration.
• Perform simulations using industry EM tools and validate with hardware tests.
• Participate in design reviews and engage with stakeholders and customers.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers as part of the team.
