Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Principal Microwave Engineer to design RF/microwave circuitry for EW self-protection systems, working across fast jet, UAV, land and naval platforms. Based in Luton or Bristol with hybrid working, you will translate system requirements into robust microwave designs and lead hands-on RF testing.

The role requires deep microwave expertise, experience with EM tools, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Proven RF/microwave circuit or subsystem design experience in complex systems.
• Strong understanding of microwave theory and high-frequency effects.
• Hands-on RF test and debugging experience with network/spectrum analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF/microwave circuits up to and beyond 20 GHz.
• Translate requirements into robust, manufacturable microwave designs.
• Lead hands-on RF testing and debugging in a lab environment.
