Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd. seeks Senior/Principal RF & Microwave Engineers to develop cutting-edge RF systems at our Edinburgh site, with hybrid working options and potential involvement across Newcastle.

You will create high‑quality RF PCB assemblies, perform RF circuit design, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable radar solutions. Applicants should have a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, 3+ years in RF design, and experience with ADS, MWO, CST.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related science.
• 3+ years of RF circuit design and analysis experience.
• Proficiency with RF software tools (ADS, MWO, CST).
• Hands-on RF/Microwave measurement techniques.
• Experience with requirements management tools like IBM Doors.

Responsibilities

• Create RF PCB assemblies on multilayer substrates with active/passive components and integrate with digital/embedded control circuits.
• Design RF circuits including LNAs, PAs, filters, couplers, switches, oscillators.
• Plan and conduct design reviews and ensure successful completion.
• Prepare manufacturing data packs and support subcontractors or manufacturing interfaces.
• Conduct laboratory testing, debugging, and performance verification of designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, test, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Mentor early career engineers and contribute to technical reviews and standards.
