Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical delivery on water resource projects in the UK. The role involves mentoring engineers, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and guiding technical reports and design packages from feasibility through to major programmes.

You will contribute to innovation and sustainability, manage client relationships, and work within a hybrid office-based model across multiple UK offices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with IMechE or equivalent, or ability to become chartered within 12 months.
• Proven experience delivering technical leadership in multidisciplinary projects, especially in the water sector.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills, collaborative problem solving.
• Commitment to innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.
• Experience in design integration of pumps, blowers, screens and dosing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for water resource projects across the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, sustainable solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, support and assurance to engineers and technicians, mentoring others.
• Develop and review technical reports, calculations, specs, drawings and design packages.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation and adoption of new technologies.
