Role overview

This challenging position involves working as part of a small team in Dundee and with other facilities and suppliers in the support, design, evaluation and test of ATMs (Auto-Teller Machines for the Banking Industry) and the devices used in ATMs. A key requirement is to have several years' mechanical design experience with a keen interest in the design of product packaging & device integration.

Responsibilities
  • Work on new product developments designing mechanical parts, assemblies and mechanisms - including injection moulded parts, sheet metal parts, castings, turned parts, etc.
  • Clearly understand documentation and the ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment
  • Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator.
  • FMEA experience.
  • Module/Platforming/Product architectures
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle
  • Lead electro/mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
  • Experience in electro/mechanical product design and working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacturers.
  • Working with Industrial design functions to deliver designs as conceived and within the commercial goals.
  • Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards
  • Supplier engagement and change management
  • Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA
  • Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change
Basis Design and Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years' related experience
  • Education: BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (or very similar STEM related discipline) - min 2:1.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies.
  • Good solid experience in previous mechanical engineering roles.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functions teams internally and externally.
  • Highly proficient in CAD (Pro/E or Solidworks preferred)
